ASD Classrooms

Broward County Public Schools (BCPS) currently serves over 8,100 students with ASD, which accounts for approximately 21% of the district’s total Students with Disabilities population. These numbers continue to grow annually, reflecting national trends and the increasing need for specialized support. [browardschools.com]

McNab currently has (1) PreK-2 ASD classroom are a core part of the Exceptional Student Education (ESE) offerings.

Head Start

Head Start is a federally funded early childhood education program administered by Broward County Public Schools (BCPS). It provides free comprehensive services to economically disadvantaged families with children ages birth to five years old, including:

• Educational instruction
• Health and developmental screenings
• Nutritional support
• Emotional and social development
• Family engagement and goal setting

There are two branches:

• Early Head Start: For pregnant women and children from birth to age 2

• Head Start Preschool: For children ages 3 and 4 (must be that age on or before September 1 of the school year)

Intensive Prekindergarten Classroom

Intensive Prekindergarten (often abbreviated as Intensive PreK) is a specialized early learning program offered by Broward County Public Schools (BCPS) under the Exceptional Student Education (ESE) umbrella. It is designed to support children with unique academic and functional needs, often through individualized education plans (IEPs).
